Warsaw

We have arrived in Warsaw! Our first day here was perfect: cold and gloomy, a nice break from the heat wave we had in Germany. We took about a six-hour train ride and arrived into the city around 1:30. Luckily our (really nice) hotel was just a few blocks away. We settled in and decided to go out and explore. We walked around for about an hour and then came home to do some (sink) laundry before dinner.

We went to a very popular place called Zapiecek for dinner. There are about a dozen locations within a mile radius of our hotel, but the one we went to was in the Old Town area. We had some yummy polish food and of course some vodka. We decided to walk back towards our hotel to find an after dinner treat. We decided on a place called Grychan, also very popular here. They had over 15 different flavors of ice cream and various pastries. After a long decision process, I settled on the hot chocolate. It was an excellent choice! After we got our sugar fix, we headed home for an early night.
